Infiltration of rain water

The portion of hard surface in the Netherlands is continuously increasing. To prevent an overload of the sewage system, it is increasingly often required that rainwater may not (or delayed) be drained via the sewage system. Particularly in the east and south of the Netherlands it is possible to infiltrate rainwater in the ground.

Based on in-situ tests, MOS Grondmechanica can determine the permeability factor and with that the potential infiltration capacity of the ground. In the design of an infiltration system, the combination of infiltration capacity and storage capacity is looked at. All of this is regarded in relation to the soil formation and the ground water levels.

In addition to the positive effects of infiltration, the advisors of MOS Grondmechanica also consider the negative effects. For example, wetting must be prevented.
